OnePlus has already confirmed through the media invite that the OnePlus 8T will be unveiled on October 14. In an interview with TechRadar, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has already confirmed that the successor of the OnePlus 8 will sport a 6.55 inch 120Hz Full HD+ display along with a whopping 65W fast charging solution which was teased earlier through OnePlus social channels.
The 65W quick charging solution from the OnePlus will be called Warp Charge 65. The OnePlus 8T’s 4500mAh battery will have two battery cells with 2250mAh in each cell. As per the OnePlus forum post by the OnePlus Staff, the device can be fully charged within 39 minutes and almost 58% in just 15 minutes.
It is also confirmed by the company CEO in an interview with PCMag, that the OnePlus 8T won’t support wireless charging like the OnePlus 8 Pro. He added that the wireless charging coil would add the thickness of the phone and the company feels that it would impact the overall design and user experience.
OnePlus 8T Warp Charge 65 can charge 58% in just 15 mins
Unlike its predecessors, The 8T charger will feature a Type-C port on both the end instead of typical typical Type A port in one end, including support up to 45W PD fast charge. Which makes the charger useful to juice up your compatible gadgets like laptop etc. OnePlus has made sure that the charger will be made reverse compatible with their previous devices.
The Chinese phone maker has added an additional encryption chip to the charger and cable and 12 temperature sensors to allow the devices charge efficiently. The company has added a new heat dissipating system in the new 8T to prevent the device from overheating to ensure the safety of its users.
The 8T is expected to be powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 or the 865+ chipset variant paired with 8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage variants with UFS 3.0.
OnePlus 8 Interstellar Glow
In the camera department, primary camera is expected to be the 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor came with its predecessors and a wide angle camera with 16MP paired with a 5MP macro and 2MP depth sensor. Instead of the oval shaped camera cutout, the OnePlus 8T will have a rectangular camera cutout for its L-shaped quad-camera setup.
In the front, OnePlus is likely to retain the punch-hole cutout camera. Unlike the OnePlus 8, the 8T is expected to feature a 32MP camera for selfies.Like its predecessors with “T” branding, OnePlus 8T is also going to be a refresh version of their current flagship smartphone.
Alongside the 8T, OnePlus is rumored to launch OnePlus Buds Z wireless earbuds, a more affordable version of the OnePlus Buds. The OnePlus 8T launch event will be held exclusively online and will feature some AR tricks similar to the OnePlus Nord launch event.
