Apple’s AirPods and Samsung Galaxy buds are arguably the most popular true wireless earbuds available in the market. Since the launch of AirPods in 2016, Android competitors were trying to catch up with the functionaliity of the AirPods. Now LG Electronics has come up with a self sterilization feature for its earbuds.

Samsung Electronics, one of the biggest compeititor has finally released its Galaxy Buds in 2019 and following its 2nd Gen Galaxy Buds + with wireless charging case, one of the first in this segment.

LG’s charging cradle will sterlize the earbuds in 10 minutes

LG has responded with its Tone Free HBS-FN6 to the AirPods and Galaxy Buds with its Industry first UV nano technology which eliminates the bacteria and germs that can build up over the time. Apart from this, it packs powerful audio which is tuned by Meridian.

Several studies in the past have shown that earbuds can harbour more bacteria which built up of filth can be lead to ear infections. LG has come up with this clever solution to tackle this health issue. Using the Ultra violet light inside the charging case, it keeps the listeners ears clean eliminating up to 99.9% of the bacterias such as E. Coli & S. aureus bacteria on the speaker mesh of the earbuds in ten minutes while charging.

LG Tone Free HBS-FN6 can deliver 1 hour of playback time with 5 minutes of fast charging

LG Tone Free HBS-FN6 offer 6 hours of music playback time with its 55mAh battery in a single full charge and the charging cradle adds up another 12 hours. Also the fast charging allows 1 hour of playback time in 5 minutes of charging.

LG Electronics have also included Spatial Audio processing and customized EQ settings and Master Quality Authenticated (MQA) technology developed by Meridian. The British audio company claims that with MQA technology, the music will stream on highest possible quality and will deliver the studio quality music as the artist intended. Apple also recently announced in WWDC that they will be including Spatial Audio in its AirPods.

Tone Free HBS-FN6 has also packed 6mm drivers and is equipped with Bluetooth 5.0 BLE technology along with Google’s fast pairing service. The 390mAh charging case can be charged using USB Type-C and it will support wireless charging as well.

The South Korean electronics giant has included 2 mics for noise reduction and echo cancellation for an improved calling experience for the users. LG has included IPX4 ceritification for protectting from sweat, water splashing and rain. Also Intuitive touch commands are built into each earbud for convenient access of Play, Pause, skip and volume control from the buds itself. Along with it, Google Assitant and Siri Voice commands are added for user convenience.

LG hasn’t revealed the price and the availability of Tone Free FN6 yet.
